The GCSD 16 Board of Education is pleased to announce their decision to hire Dr. Jennifer Baugh as the interim superintendent. Dr. Baugh will be coming to Garfield 16 from Lewisburg, Pennsylvania where she has served as the Superintendent of Lewisburg Area School District since 2020. Dr. Lewis brings over 17 years of administrative experience to our District and a wealth of knowledge in all areas of education, especially curriculum and program leadership. She began her career after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education/English from La Salle University. She has since earned a Masters of Education in Language and Education from the University of Pennsylvania, a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Delaware Valley University, and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Lehigh University.
With school districts around the country addressing the changes and loses experienced over the past two-plus years, Dr. Baugh believes, "As we prepare to emerge from this pandemic, a student-centered approach to schools where everyone embraces the same vision and mission to help every child find his/her place in the world, in spite of challenges and obstacles, is needed now more than ever."
We look forward to Dr. Baugh's arrival in July when she will take over the top leadership role in our District.
